Our first fall musical here at New Works San Antonio will be: SIX: TEEN EDITION !

This show will be for ages 13+ and is a full-length adaptation of Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ international phenomenon SIX, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.

This show will be performed at The Parish (1624 Buena Vista St Ste 14, San Antonio, TX, United States 78207) on November 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.

Three casts, six shows, two performances per cast!

Rehearsals will be once a week for three hours at Synergy Studios (701 North Alamo St. 2 San Antonio, TX 78215) Sundays 1:30-4:30 September 1st- November 10th.

At its heart, SIX is about celebrating the talent and individuality of the women and non-binary people onstage. SIX: TEEN EDITION includes all songs from the original version, with reimagined lines and lyrics to minimize suggestive language and alternate line changes to reframe UK references for a US audience. SIX: TEEN EDITION includes an optional SATB chorus, opening the door for expandable casting for backup singers and dancers of all gender identities.

We are planning on having three casts- spots will fill up quickly!

* The Queens can only be played by cis women, trans women, trans people and people who exist beyond the gender binary in any capacity, who feel on a personal level that this is their story to tell. New Works is a queer friendly space that celebrates, acknowledges, and champions that this text was written by and for women and trans individuals.
